Dudley House
Bendigo, VIC
The Story
One of the earliest intact 1850s buildings in Bendigo's CBD, this red brick house was built in 1858-59 as the residence and office for the district's first surveyor, who set out the street layout still used today. Perched at the top of the View Street arts precinct above Queen Elizabeth Oval, it now runs as a community gallery, hosting up to six exhibitions of local and emerging artists each year.
