The Story
Fremantle artist Fiona Gavino works in mild steel, cane, rattan, resin paint and gold leaf — materials that show up in sculptures scaled for gallery floors. Her 2024 Andrea Stretton Memorial Award brought an invitation to Sculpture by the Sea at Bondi. The work is serious without being solemn: elemental in title, precise in construction.
