Kim Neave has spent his career working almost exclusively with Tasmanian and Australian native timbers — huon pine, blackwood, the species that carry grain worth running a hand across. Trained at UTAS, he works from nipaluna (Hobart) on commission, producing furniture built to outlast its owners. The pitch is simple: slow down, feel the wood, buy once.
