Alix builds everything — kitchen islands with hidden compartments, coffin-shaped wedding arbors, bedside tables — mostly from reclaimed timber and salvaged pallets. His wife Claire runs the logistics. Three kids provide moral support. The Gold Coast workshop takes strange requests seriously, which is half the appeal.
