Dan Pettersen forges custom knives at his Chandler workshop, on Brisbane's eastern edge, working blades from kitchen to bush. A qualified teacher as well as a bladesmith, he takes his craft to its full arc: forging and shaping the blade, heat treating, grinding, then fitting and finishing a timber handle. His pieces run to forge-welded pattern-steel and hardened hamon lines. Alongside commissioned work sold through the studio's online store, he runs small two-day bladesmithing courses that carry a knife from bar stock to finished edge.
