Mark trained with Nicholas Dattner Co, furniture makers known for solid timber work in Melbourne, and spent 25 years refining joinery before establishing Roots with co-founder Bohdan in a Collingwood workshop. Bohdan develops designs; Mark builds custom pieces from specifications, working primarily in hardwoods sourced locally. The workshop sits on Johnston Street. Each commission includes a 20-year structural warranty. The work sits between traditional cabinetmaking and contemporary design — less trend-responsive, more endurance-focused.
