The Story
Since 1989, Riley Street has been home to Sydney's most permissive gallery: fully un-curated, meaning anyone can book space to show anything. That openness launched careers including James Powditch and Carlos Barrios. The Real Refuses—open to artists rejected from the Archibald, Wynne or Sulman prizes—is the annual highlight. Open daily, noon to six.
