The Story
Laura Deakin founded Coral Covey in Munich in 2014 and returned to Melbourne in 2017, where she hand-forges one-off rings, engagement rings and wedding bands from a solar-powered studio in the heritage-listed Nicholas Building on Swanston Street. She works in recycled gold and platinum with conflict-free, heirloom and antique stones, resetting clients' own gems. Trained at the Munich Art Academy, she lectures in gold and silversmithing at RMIT and teaches Blak Design at the Koorie Heritage Trust.
